Dr. Roger William Dilley, 77, of Fremont died at Select Specialty Hospital in Omaha Saturday September 2, 2017. He was born November 4, 1939 in Omaha. Roger graduated from Omaha Central High School in 1957 and attended the University of Omaha where he played baseball prior to attending the University of Nebraska Medical School. He was in family practice in Wisner, Nebraska for four years before finishing his residency in Omaha and Hawaii. In 1973, he moved to Fremont and entered private practice until his retirement in June of 2015. Dr. Dilley was a Fellow of the College of American Physicians, a member of the Fremont Rotary Club, the Nebraska Medical Association, the University of Nebraska Alumni Association and the First Lutheran Church. Outside of his family, his loves were Husker football, KC Royals baseball and playing golf and tennis as often as possible. Roger Dilley married Colleen Willert at Bethel Lutheran Church in Omaha June 23, 1963. He is survived by his wife, Colleen, two daughters Carolyn Dempsey (husband Brian) of Chatham, NJ and Catherine Dilley (Partner Yacov Assa) of Frederick, MD and one son Christian Dilley of Fremont. Grandchildren are Samuel, Calder and Austen Dempsey and Uriya and Rafael Dilley-Assa. Services will be Friday, September 8, at 11:00 A.M. at First Lutheran Church. Pastor Marty Tollefson officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.at Dugan Funeral Chapel with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00. Memorials have been established to First Lutheran Church and Habitat for Humanity. Burial at Westlawn-Hillcrest Cemetery in Omaha. Condolences may be left at www.duganchapel.com.
