Fremont

Died Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Parsons House in Omaha.

He was born October 21, 1929 in Ohiowa, Nebraska and was raised in Wayne, Nebraska graduating from Wayne High School in 1946. In 1950 Al graduated from Wayne State College and taught and coached at West Point, Nebraska for two years before moving to Central City, Nebraska. In 1957 he moved to Fremont where he coached basketball until 1976 and then served as athletic director until 1989 when he retired. While at Fremont he was also the assistant football coach, golf coach, and was the American Legion baseball coach.

Coach Bahe was a member of the Nebraska State High School Football Hall of Fame, the Wayne State College Hall of Fame, and the Fremont High School Hall of Fame. The Fremont High School Gymnasium was Dedicated to him in 2005. He was also a member of Salem Lutheran Church.

Services will be Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at Salem Lutheran Church. Rev. Michael Thomas officiating. Visitation will be Monday 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with the family present 6:00 to 8:00 at Dugan Funeral Chapel.
