Arlene A. Johnston, age 76, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Saunders Care Center in Wahoo.

Arlene was born September4, 1936, to Arvin and Myrtle Humke in Dubuque, Iowa.She attended high school in Newton, Iowa, where she also worked at the family bakery.She married Max Johnston on January 23, 1959, in Grinnell, Iowa.After Max graduated from college, they lived in Des Moines until he was relocated to Fremont for work in the mid 1960's.Arlene then worked for the City of Fremont for over 20 years until her retirement.

Arlene was an extremely avid bridge player and was a member of many bridge groups.She held fundraisers for the Nebraska Children's Home Society. She was also a life-long member of First United Methodist Church.

Special friend and niece Rhonda Prine of Saylorville, Iowa

Memorials may be made to the Nebraska Children's Home Society.

Visitation: 4:00 – 7:00 PM Monday April 8, 2013 at Dugan Funeral Chapel.Family will be present from 5:00 – 6:00 PM.
Funeral Services: 2:00 PM Tuesday April 9, 2013 at First United Methodist Church.Pastor Greg Hall will be officiating.
