Audrey Glendyne Eckerson was born October 1, 1924 at home on
a farm near Valley, Nebraska,
to A. Elsie (Feltwell) and Fred Eckerson.
When she was six weeks old they moved to a farm east of Fremont on old Highway 8 and was raised
there. She attended Brugh School District
37, and graduated from both Fremont High School and Midland Lutheran
College.
She was a 'country'
school teacher for 27 years at various schools.
She married Harold Hansen Jr. on February 10, 1946, at Sinai Lutheran
Church in Fremont.
They lived in the Fremont area until
August 1960, when they moved to Uehling,
Nebraska. She resided there until 2005 when she moved
to the Parkview Apartments in Hooper. In
July 2008 she moved to Fremont
to live with her daughter and son-in-law.
She was a member of
the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary in Fremont since 1959, and belonged to their
Past-Presidents Group. She was in the
Beta Sigma Phi Sorority; Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post # 10535 in Hooper; American
Legion Auxiliary Unit #0196 in Uehling; Dodge County Salon 358-8/40; St. Paul's
Women of E.L.C.A. in Uehling. She was
also a member of the Uehling Rescue Squad for 13 years.
She is survived by
her two daughters: Yolanda (James D.) Neill of Fremont and Deborah (Lonnie)
Beard of Herman, Nebraska.
Five grandchildren: Brian (Jodi) Beard of Gretna; John Beard of Kearney;
Tim (Sharon) Neill, Shelly Neill-Strunk, Terry (Amy) Neill, and James A.
(Lorraine) Neill II, all of Fremont.

Great-Grandchildren: Allyson and Carson Beard; James A.
Neill III, Jaime (Tyler) Pitts, Jacelle Neill, Jaimzi Neill, Emily and Jeremy
Neill, Austen and Ashtynn Neill, Alicia Carrera, Savannah Neill, and Thomas
Strunk.
She was preceded in
death by her husband, parents, four brothers, and two sisters-in-law: Clarence and wife Evelyn, Carl, Clifford and
wife Marian, Nels. Also a
great-grand-daughter Hailey Neill.
Funeral Services
will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Sinai
Lutheran Church
in Fremont, with
the Reverend Michael Olstrom officiating.
Visitation will be
held Tuesday at Dugan Funeral Chapel from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with the
family present from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
Memorials have been
established for St. Paul's Lutheran
Church in Uehling or Sinai Lutheran
Church in Fremont.
