Betty K. Johnson, 86 Fremont Died at The Landing in Lincoln on Sunday, September 10, 2006. She was born February 18, 1920 in Essex, Iowa to Walter and Lillian Johnson Carson who were the local mortition and postmaster. Betty graduated from Essex High School in 1937. She attended Tarkio College in Tarkio, Missouri and graduated with a teaching certificate in 1941. A cheerleader for four years she was elected to Who's Who of American Colleges and Universities. She was a member of Alpha Psi Omega honorary society and a membr of Kappa Athea Literary Society. Betty taught High School English and Dramatics in Dayton and Panora, Iowa. Betty Carson married Lt. Howard M. Williams on December 22, 1942 in Essex, Iowa. Following the war the family moved to Fremont, Howard's home town, in 1945. Howard died August 14, 1964. On March 19, 1972 Betty married Carl W. Johnson in Fremont. He died August 29, 2001. She was a member of the first class of Red Cross Volunteers at Dodge County Memorial Hospital Gray Ladies and served for 10 years. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church where she served as a Primary Superintendent for nine years and sang in the chior for 16 years. She was also a Boy Scout Leader and Girl Scout Leader. She was a member of the Fremont Golf Club since 1946 and PEO Chapter EX since 1949 and received her 50 year pin. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, she and Carl travled frequently. She was also a true Husker Fan, enjoyed playing bridge and was active in the Fremont Ladies Golf Association on the local and state level. She was City Golf Champion in 1958. Williams (wife Bonnie) of Lincoln One daughter-Kathleen Hubka (husband Larry) of Lincoln Three grandchildren-Amy Quattrocchi (husband Tony) of Lincoln Kristine Ann Gale (husband David) of Fremont John Williams (wife Amber) of Omaha Five great grandchildren-Sophia and Anthony Quattrocchi; Jack, Charlie, and Thomas Gale She was preceded by Parents-Walter O. and Lillian Carson; Brothers Robert C. and Gene D. Carson Services will be Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. at the Presbyterian Church. Rev. William Lewis officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
