Boyd A. Giesselman, 86 of Arlington died Friday, September 19 at A.J. Merrick Manor.

He was born June 1, 1928 on the family farm north of Arlington where he was raised and attended St. Paul's Lutheran School and graduated from Arlington High School in 1946. He joined the U.S. Army February 9, 1951. After his service he returned to farm outside of Arlington raising corn, soybeans, cattle and hogs until his retirement in 2000. In 2007 he moved into town. Boyd was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Arlington VFW and American Legion Post 71.

Laurene Skinner married Boyd Giesselman in Fremont November 4, 1970.

He is survived by his wife Laurene, a step-son Ronald Skinner (wife Teresa) of Fremont and step-daughter Linda Sundquist-Bice (husband James) of Fremont, neice Ann Morris and nephews Hal Heybrock and Paul Heybrock. Also seven grandchildren,12 great grandchildren , and one great great grandchild.

Services will be Tuesday, September 23 at 1:30 P.M. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Pastor Rick Kanoy and Pastor Jason Duley officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery with Military rites by the Arlington VFW and American Legion Honor Guard.
