Carl W. Bogner age 88, of Fremont, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Fremont Health.


Carl Wendell Bogner was born on December 29th, 1927, he was the 6th of 8 children born to Frank X and Esther Sabina Holmes Bogner.He was raised in Siam, Ohio and graduated from Attica High School, in Attica, OH.As soon as Carl turned 16 he began working on the railroad.He joined the Army in May 3, 1946he served in Honolulu, HI as a part of the Military Police and was honorably discharged on October 21, 1947.


He married the love of his life, Twila Magdalene Boggs on June 13th, 1950, to this union was born two children, Carl Wesley and Carla Faye. Carl was an ordained minister in the Pilgrim of Holiness Church.He pastored in Alva and Bartlesville, OK, Colorado Springs, CO and filled in for pastors across the Nebraska district.

He taught history at what is now known as Bethany Bible College in Bartlesville, OK.In 1960, Carl and Twila, took teaching positions with the Omaha Public Schools system.Carl taught history and was a counselor at Benson High School for 17 years, and then retired to Missouri, where he and Twila bought a dairy and hay farmed for 10 years.They moved to Schuyler in 1989 and then on to Fremont in January of 2001.


Some of Carl's passions include; studying God's word, traveling, fishing, woodworking, and stained glass.It is hard to talk about Carl without including Twila, they truly were one and never did anything without the other.More than anything else, they loved their children and grandchildren.The heritage they left their family was first and foremost, their love and service for our Heavenly Father, they showed that to us by their unconditional love.Even though Carl and Twila had literally read the Bible through several hundred times I would hear dad say, there was always something new that was revealed to him each time.They had such a passion to help those less fortunate and loved doing what they could for Missions.They shared their faith with all they came in contact with, whether it be co-workers, neighbors, friends or a new acquaintance.One of their favorite scriptures is, John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life."


Those who preceded Carl to Heaven were: his lovely wife, Twila, grandson William Wesley Krula and grand son-in-law, Willie James Anderson, his parents, Frank and Esther, his parents in law, Ernest and Susan Boggs, three brothers, two sisters, five brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law.


Carl is survived by his son, Carl Wesley of Jasper, OR and daughter, Carla Faye and son-in-law Gary Krula of Rogers, NE, three grandchildren,Joseph Carl of Grand Junction, CO, Alecia Suzanne and Fiance Aaron Limbach of North Bend, NE, and Callie Sophia and Husband Christopher Garges of Rogers NE, two great-grandchildren, Mila Brynn and Atley James Anderson of North Bend, NE, two sisters, Anna Bowers, of Tiffin, OH and Carroll Clever of Smyrna , GA, and many nieces and nephews and close friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 7, 2016 from 4-8 at Dugan Funeral Chapel.


Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 8, 2016 at 10A.M. at The Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Aaron Horton officiating.

Burial with Military honors will be held at the Schuyler Cemetery.
