Carol A. "Mitzi" Nattress, 64, of Fremont, Nebraska, died at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, on May 9th, 2013.
Mitzi was born and raised in the Ord, Nebraska area, living on the family farm. She worked as a beautician and had a beauty shop in Sargent, then in Hastings, before moving to Fremont in 1974. Mitzi worked at the Vet's Club, then the Holiday Lodge, Plaza Lanes and then the Hormel Cafeteria.
She is survived by her husband Greg of 44 years, sons Robert and Ronald, Brothers Don and Chuck, Sisters Tammy Cash, Suzanne Parkos-Caruso-Votta and husband Dr. Richard Votta, seven nephews and two nieces.
Mitzi was preceded in death by father Elmer Parkos, and mother Virginia (Petska) Parkos.
She touched the lives of many people with her kindness and willingness to lend an ear. She knew no stray animals and cared for many cats and dogs.
Mitzi was a 13 year lung transplant survivor. She was an organ and tissue donor, and at the time of her passing she was able to help and serve others one last time. Her final wish was for all her friends and acquaintances to help others in need by becoming an organ and tissue donor. To celebrate her life, there will be a gathering at Dugan Funeral Chapel on Sunday, June 9th, between 1-5 PM. Please join Greg and his family for cake, coffee and conversation.
