Cherie L. Stewart, age 58, of Fremont, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer at Dunklau Gardens.

Cherie was born July 7, 1959, to Donald and Barbara (Wilson) Sawyer, in Fremont. She attended Fremont Schools. Following high school, she worked various jobs, including Walmart, ENCORE and Fremont Veterans Club. Cherie enjoyed spending her free time volunteering for the Fremont Care Corps and the Low Income Ministries in Fremont. She was active in surrounding community churches as well as the Care Corps bible study group.

Cherie was honored for her volunteer service to the Care Corps. She loved spending time at the lake with her family and friends. Cherie was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching Tony Stewart.

She is preceded in death by her infant twin sister Cheryl, grandparents, aunts, cousins and special friend Brett.

She is survived by her sons Darren and Casey Stewart, parents Don and Barb, siblings Shawn Rowden, Donnie Sawyer, Shelley Sawyer, Sheila (Doug) Megrue, and many more family and friends.
