D. Joan (Jody) Draemel, 94

Died at Nye Legacy Saturday morning November 12.She was born September 19, 1922 in Fremont, Nebraska and graduated from Fremont High School in 1938 and then from Midland College.Jody taught in the Fremont elementary school system from 1955 to 1982, and was Delta Gamma Sorority Housemother at the University of Nebraska from 1988 to 1993.

Jody Dunbar married M.C. "My" Draemel June 25, 1941 in Fremont.My was a World War II veteran, a teacher and coach at Fremont High School from 1947 to 1957 and at Midland College from 1957 until his death December 5, 1978.

Jody was a member of Chapter AJ of PEO and attended Trinity Cathedral, All Saints, and St. James Episcopal Churches.

She is survived by her daughter Pamela Yandell (husband Charley) ofCashiers, North Carolina; two sons Michael Draemel (wife Pamela) of Elkhorn and Jeff Draemel (wife Bev) of Omaha; Grandchildren Jessica Allen (Husband Spencer) of Chicago, Illinois, Tanner Draemel (wife Amanda) of Omaha, Reese Draemel of Scottsdale, Arizona and Griff Draemel of Omaha;Great grandchildren Jada Allen and Cole Allen of Chicago, Illinois:Several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by parents Roy and Della Dunbar, bother Bill Dunbar and wife Gloria, brother in law Dean Draemel and wife Phyl, Sister in law Mary Ann Whitacre, and grandson Michael Tyson Draemel.


Graveside services will be Friday November 18, at 11:00 A.M. at Memorial Cemetery.Rev. James Melang officiating.A reception will follow at the Fremont Golf Club.Memorials have been established to Midland University and the Dodge County Humane Society. Condolences may be left at www.duganchapel.com.
