Dale Francis Magnuson, age 79 passed away October 15, 2007. He was born to Paul and Helga Magnuson on June 4, 1928 on a farm in Saunders County. He was baptized and confirmed at Pohocco Lutheran Church. He attended rural schools and graduated from Fremont High School in 1945. He served in the United States Navy in 1948. He subsequently attended Midland Lutheran College and Kansas State University receiving an under-graduate degree in Industrial and Mechanical Engineering from Kansas State in 1953. He received his graduate education in management and economics from the Northwestern University city campus in Chicago while employed by United States Steel. He married Mary Lou Rowe in Chicago in 1954. They were married for 37 years until her death 1991. After US Steel, he was employed by the Carnation Company in Los Angeles, California, Aerojet-General in Sacramento, California, Albert Ramond and Associates in Chicago and New York City, Omsteel and Lozier in Omaha, Nebraska. He was with Albert Ramond and Associates approximately 30 years, retiring in 1983. After retirement, he served with the US Army in Contract Administration until 1990, when he received a disability retirement due to complication resulting from ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). He married Clarice I. Christensen on October 10, 1992 in Fremont. Dale was an avid reader especially philosophy, psychology and poetry. He appreciated music of every genre during these past years. His courage, positive attitude and patience sustained him during his 20 years with ALS. He is preceded in death by his step-son Craig Christensen and grand-daughter Natalie Bluthardt He is survived by his wife Clarice. His sons Kurt (Jackie) Magnuson of Seattle, Washington, and Carl (Jennie) Magnuson of Topeka, Kansas. Daughter Mary Ann (Steve) Counts of Statesboro, Georgia Step-son Clark Christensen of Shawnee, Kansas Step-daughters Deborah (Mark) Scanlon of Shawnee, Kansas, Valerie (Robert) Bluthardt of San Angelo, Texas Chelley (Lee) Peterson of Bennett, Nebraska Daughter-in-law Valerie Christensen of Ponca, Nebraska Sisters: Iyone (Glenn) Meyer of Prescott, Arizona Linda (James) Williams of Chandler, Arizona Grandchildren: Drew Anderson, Alexandra Anderson, George Magnuson Step-Grandchildren: Chad Christensen, Austin Christensen, Morgan Scanlon, Drew Scanlon, Chase Peterson, Caitlin Peterson, Curtis Peterson, Carolyn Bluthardt Memorial Services will be Monday Oct. 22 at 2:00 P.M. at St. James Episcopal Church.
