David G. Mitten, age 87, entered into eternal rest on December 13, 2015, at Dunklau Gardens Fremont Health.

David was born in Fremont on March 2, 1928, to William and Irene Mitten.He attended Fremont schools graduating in 1946.After graduation he attended Stanford University where he was a member of the Stanford Golf Team and a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.He was an officer in the United States Air Force serving in the Phillipines for 2 years.

David married Joan Fike on March 29, 1952.Residing in Fremont, David was president of Fremont State Company.He was an appointee to the Nebraska Real Estate Commission and served as a member of the Nebraska and National Real Estate Associations.He was a past president of the YMCA and Fremont Golf Club, a Rotarian, and a member of the Masons and Shriners.
David's greatest love was being on the golf course.David and Joani moved to California where David spent 20 years as a starter at Ironwood Country Club in Palm Desert.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years Joan; 2 daughters Dianne Dyson (Guy Onserud) and Mary McFarlin (Rod Wilson); 4 grandchildren David (Jen) Dyson of Fulton, MO; Mary (Jason) Ottis of Kansas City, MO; Megan McFarlin (Gavin Horn) of Omaha and Matthew McFarlin of Chicago.He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren with a 6th due in February.Sister-in-law Mickie Knight of Omaha and brother-in-law Charles (Jody) Fike of Omaha.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Irene; brother Richard and son-in-law Donavon Dyson.
