David E. Waite, 55, of Lyons, formerly of Fremont, died Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Oakland Memorial Hospital.

He was born June 22, 1956 to David R. and Anna Waite in Fort Dodge, Iowa. After school, he joined the Air Force and served during the Vietnam era. After he was honorably discharged, he began truck driving. He drove for Fremont Contract Carriers and most recently was self employed. David married Pamela Frink on September 22, 1996.

He is survived by his wife; son, Clarence Waite; daughters, Melody (Joseph) Bouska of Nickerson, Angie Waite of Rogers, AR; step-daughters, Annie (Mario) Meneses of Fremont, Mandie Mumm of Philadelphia, PA, Sonja (Cory) Bloom of Cherokee, IA; and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, David E. Waite Jr.; one brother and two sisters.

Private services will be held.
