David W. Williams, 72
Died at Edgewood Vista Thursday night October 31. He was born in Lincoln December 5, 1940 and was raised in Fremont graduating from Fremont High School in 1958. He attended Denver University on a full golf scholarship and graduated in 1962 with a B.A. in Business Administration. He worked for Northwestern Bell before taking a position as Assistant Professional at Highland Country Club in Omaha in 1963. He was the head professional at Meadowbrook Country Club in Hastings from 1966 to 1968, at Valley View from 1969 to 1982 when he started at the Fremont Golf Club where he was until his retirement in 2006.

David Williams married Linda Voss June 2, 1962 in Fremont.
Dave was a member and elder of the Presbyterian Church and a member of the Fremont Rotary Club. He was the PGA Pro of the Year for Nebraska in 2005, is a member of the Fremont High School Sports Hall of Fame, and was captain of the Denver University Golf team during his Junior and Senior year.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; two daughters, Laura Nielsen (husband Brad) of Omaha and Kimberly Knopik (husband Barry) of Lincoln; one son, Brian Williams (wife Jennifer) of Omaha; one brother Richard Williams (wife Nora) of Vancouver, B.C.; and eight grandchildren, Martha, Matthew, and Emily Nielsen, Nicholas, Carter, and Anna Knopik, and Jonathan and Logan Williams.
Memorial Services will be Monday, November 4, at 10:00 A.M. at the Presbyterian Church. Rev. Jon Ashley officiating. A gathering to see the family will be Sunday from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Dugan Funeral Chapel. Memorials have been established to the Presbyterian Church and the Krupinski-Williams Golf Scholarship Fund. Condolences may be left at www.duganchapel.com.
Private interment services will be held.
