Don Hinds
November 6, 1937 ~ November 9, 2021

Don was born in Perryton, Texas to Marshal Ray and Eveline (Bryan) Hinds. He
graduated from Palisade NE High School in 1955 and attended Nebraska Wesleyan
and Kearney State Teacher's College where he majored in Business Education.

On September 2, 1956 he married Janice Miller and the couple had two children,
James and Stacy.

He was active in organizing John C. Fremont Days, the Charter President of Main Street Fremont,
President of the Downtown Improvement District.He served on many boards including YMCA, United
Way, Care Corps, Nebraska Arts Council, Nebraska State Diplomats and Gallery '92 in Fremont as
well as "Rebuilding Together."

He was the President of the Chamber of Commerce, Greater Fremont Development Council,
Cosmopolitan Club 100, as well as Governor of the Cosmopolitan Cornbelt Federation.He
served on the advisory boards of the Fremont Area Community Foundation, Rebuilding Together
and the Nebraska Cultural Endowment.

Honors include numerous Top production awards in business as well as Diplomat of the Year,
Patrick J. Hodgkin's, Governor's Arts Award, Community Service Award, Award of Excellence for
Downtown Renovation, Honorary Lifetime member of the Chamber of Commerce and
Admiral in the Nebraska Navy.

He is survived by wife, Janice (Miller) Hinds; daughter, Stacy (John) Bolduc; son, Jim Hinds;
daughter in law, Sharon Hinds; grandchildren, Jack, Sam, Joe and Ellie Bolduc, Jason and
Jennifer Novotny; great grandchildren, Weston and Brinley Novotny; sisters, Sarah Fairbanks and
Rev. Nita (Dennis) Hinds-Park.

Memorials are suggested to Fremont Area Community Foundation, Care Corp or Gallery '92.
