Donald D. Williams, 94

Rapid City, South Dakota

Died at a Rapid City Hospice Tuesday, May 20th. He was born November 18, 1913 at Montrose, South Dakota. Don graduated from Huron, South Dakota High School in 1931 and the University of Minnesota in 1937. He married Marjorie Spieker in Fremont January 23, 1937. She died November 24, 1988. After University Don worked in Soil Conservation, for the Social Security Administration, and as a Bank Examiner for the FDIC before moving to Fremont in 1944. He owned and operated American Hatchery until 1968 and then was business manager for the Fremont Public Schools until his retirement in 1976.

Don married Marian Schmidt December 14, 1989 in Green Valley, Arizona where they lived until 2001 when they moved to Rapid City, South Dakota.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon Board, served as treasurer, and was a member of the choir. He was a member of the Fremont Rotary Club and the Fremont Golf Club.

Survived by his wife, Marian. Two sons; Richard Williams (wife Nora) of Gibsons, B.C., Canada and David Williams (wife Linda) of Fremont.

Step-Children, Priscilla Schmidt of Rapid City, South Dakota: Ann Hames of Edina, Minnesota: Mark Schmidt of Sahuarita, Arizona
Step-Grandchildren, Ethan Schmidt of Rapid City: Ingrid Schmidt of New York, NY: Eva Schmidt of Mnneapolis and nine great grand children.

Memorial Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 A.M. at the First Baptist Church. Rev. Leland Foreman officiating. There will be no visitation. A memorial has been established to First Baptist Church.
