Doris Caroline Anthony, 81, Fremont died Thursday, June 26th at St. Joseph Tower in Omaha.

Born February 5, 1927 to Olaf and Emma (Carlson) Peterson in Fremont.
She was raised in Fremont and graduated from Fremont High School in 1944. She attended Midland Lutheran College and Wayne State College. She married Gifford Dixon in 1950. He died December 18, 1964. She married Leonard Anthony October 10, 1969 in Fremont. He died January 31, 2004.

After raising her family she became manager of the Fremont Senior Center for 18years. During that time and after retirement she was a volunteer for may groups and organizations. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church for many years, where she served on the Vestry and was a member of St. Mary's Guild. She later joined St. Timothy Lutheran Church where she helped with the special classes. She also volunteered at the May Museum and the Keene Library. Doris moved to the St. Joseph Tower in Omaha, September 2007 to be closer to children and grandchildren.

Survived by: Son; Daniel Dixon of Omaha. Daughter Beth (Steve) Mincer of Omaha. Son Scott (Kathy) Dixon of Salina, Kansas. Son Tyler (Lynda) Dixon of Goodyear, Arizona. Son; Matthew (JoLynn) Dixon of Fremont. Step-son; Lonnie Anthony of Fullerton, Nebraska. Step-son Myron (Geri) Anthony of Omaha. Step-son Lloyd "Rocky" (Karen) Anthony of Omaha. Step-daughter-in-law Kathy Anthony of Tekamah, Nebraska.
15 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild.

Preceeded in death by Husbands Gifford Dixon and Leonard Anthony. Son Tracy Dixon, Step-son Donald Anthony, 1 great grandson.

Memorial Services will be Thursday, July 10th, 2008 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church at 10:30AM. No visistation. Burial will be at 3:00PM at Blair Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to www.duganchapel.com.
