Earl F. Cole, age 89 of Fremont, Nebraska, passed away Monday December 8, 2008. Earl was a proud U.S. Army veteran and served as a former Brigadier General. He was born in Madison County, Nebraska on October 21, 1919. He married Gertrude Fredrich Bower September 21, 1970 in Sweden and they moved to Fremont in 1991. Earl was a member of Good Shephard Lutheran Church. He is preceded in death by his parents Willard and Cora. He is survived by wife Gertrude of Fremont, son Douglas of Alexandria, VA, and daughter Christine. He is also survived by four grandchildren Adam, Aron, Marcus, and Ariane and many relatives and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 20, 2008 at the Good Shephard Lutheran Church. Rev. Timothy Anderson officiating. There is no visitation. Interment was at the Rosehill Cemetery in Newman Grove, Nebraska. A memorial has been established to the Dodge County Humane Society of Fremont.
