Esther H. Christensen, age 93, of Omaha, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Heritage Pointe Assisted Living in Omaha.

Esther was born March 23, 1928, to Jens and Lela (Goddard) Jensen in North Platte, NE.Esther attended North Platte Schools, then later went on to Midland College in Fremont. While at Midland, she was the president of her sorority and a member of the Clef Dwellers choir. Esther graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in education. Esther worked as a teacher at Uehling High School and later as a substitute teacher in the Fremont Public Schools.

Esther enjoyed crocheting, sewing, swimming, biking, camping. travelling, and Husker Volleyball.Esther and her late husband Vigo visited all 50 states except Hawaii and several foreign countries. Esther enjoyed her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Esther was like a second mom to many of the neighborhood kids, which was bonus for her, as she always knew where her children were. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched.

She is preceded in death by her husband Vigo, parents and brother Wallace Jensen.

She is survived by her children, Eric (Diane) Christensen, Todd ( Susan) Christensen, Paula (John) Killion, grandchildren Gina (Joel), Jeremey (Courtney), Dan, Kelsey (Darius), Andy (Nikki), Sandy (Jesse), Murphy, Seth, great-grandchildren, Henry, Lela, Thea, Theodore, and many nieces and nephews.

A dual memorial service will be held for Esther and her late husband Vigo on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at 10:30AM at Dugan Funeral Chapel in Fremont. Esther's request was for everyone in attendance to wear her favorite color, Red. Dress is casual.

Burial will take place at Memorial Cemetery.
