Gerald 'Jerry' E. Myre, Sr., age 75, of Fremont, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2015, at Nebraska Medical Center.


Jerry was born March 15, 1940, to Richard and Ann Myre, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He attended and graduated from Abraham Lincoln high school, after which he attended some college. He spent most of his life working as an Inventory Relocation Specialist. Jerry had 4 children: Chris, Tawni, Gerald, Jr., and John.


Jerry married Joan Lightcap on April 18, 1998. He enjoyed boating, fishing with his children, woodworking, antique car clubs, spending time with this family, and always having projects to keep him busy. Jerry was involved in many different clubs and organizations, and was always ready to lend a helping hand when needed. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge #15 AF&AM, Tangier Shriner's, Eagles Club, Lions Club, Pohocco Men in Mission, was a council member at Pohocco Lutheran Church, and was an Eagles All-State conductor for the ritual team.


Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Ann Myre; brother, Al Myre; and sister, Alice Myre-Wood. He is survived by his wife, Joan; children, Chris (Cheryl) Myre; Tawni (Scott) Stenberg; Gerald, Jr. (Tammy) Myre; John (Tracy) Myre; Geri (Doug) Mallory; Joel (Dana) Reeves; brothers, Richard Myre, William Myre; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; nieces and nephews; and family and friends.


Memorials may be directed to the Woodcliff Lions Club.


Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 11:00am at Dugan Funeral Chapel. Pastor Johnice Orduna and Harold Schmidt officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the memorial service at Dugan Funeral Chapel.
