Glenn A. Carstens of Fremont, passed away at his residence on Sunday July 6, 2008.
He was born in Winside, Nebraska November 22, 1945 to Henry Carstens and Elsie (Koepke) Carstens. He graduated from Wayne High School in 1964. He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1965 and was honorably discharged as a sergeant in 1968. Glen married Debra Prenzlin August 3, 1984 and they made their home in Fremont.

He and his brother Terry owned a meat locker in Portsmouth, Iowa until 1985. He drove a truck for many years and was employed by ABC in Omaha before retiring.

One Daughter Elizabeth Carstens of Fremont
Two Sons; Henry Carstens and James (wife Lisa) Mayner of Fremont.
4 grandchildren; Justenne Carstens; Derek, Pheobe, and Mia Glissman-Mayner
2 brothers; Gerald Carstens (wife Velma) of Pilger, Terry Carstens of Chadron
4 sisters; Dorothy Nelson (husband Gordon) of Wayne, Nebraska, Marilyn Nelson (husband Don) of Branson, Missouri, Janet Fuoss (husband Earl) of Wayne, Sharon Quota of Fremont
Preceded in death by two brothers:
Rudy Carstens in 1979 and Ervin Carstens in 1990 and his parents, Henry in 1970 and Elsie in 2003.
Services will be Friday at 2:30 P.M. at Dugan Funeral Chapel, Pastor Roger Luiken officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A memorial has been established to the National Diabetes Research Foundation.
Graveside Services will be Saturday at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne, Nebraska.
