Grace R. Mahacek, age 89, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2010, at Nye Legacy in Fremont.
Grace was born in Omaha, Nebraska on January 9, 1921, to Milo Fitle and Anna (Pospichal). She attended Omaha South High School and graduated in 1938. She married Louis W. Mahacek May 6, 1941, and later moved to Fremont in 1947. Shortly after, they established the Dugout Bar and continued to run it until they sold it in 1965.
Grace worked for Reliance Insurance Company for 11 years and ESU #2 until she retired. Although she retired, Grace continued working for Don Sherlock until she was 79.
She was a devoted member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and was 'One of the Do-Da Girls'.
She is preceded in death by her husband Louis.
