Hazel Davis, age 93, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2010, at Midlands Hospital in Papillion.

Hazel was born in Arlington, June 6, 1917, and was raised there until her family moved to Dallas, South Dakota.She graduated from Dallas High School in 1935.She moved to Fremont in 1940 and worked for SS Kresgees and then worked in the printing area at the Mead Ordinance Plant from 1945 to 1962.In 1963 she moved to Denver where she lived until moving back to Fremont in 1971.Upon her return, she worked for Nebraska Printing and Litho until her retirement in 1982.She was a proud member of the First United Methodist Church in Fremont, as well as a member of Rachael's Circle, also at the church.

Hazel DeWitt married Garnet E. Davis in Fremont on August 23, 1942.Garnet died on August 24, 1984.

She is survived by:

2 nieces; Celia Novacek of San Pablo, CA, and Janet Bailey of El Sobranto, CA

2 nephews; Edward Murphy of San Pablo, CA, and Ron Novacek of Stockton, CA

3 special cousins Addie Bailey of Omaha, and Peggy (Rick) Case of Omaha

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM, Monday, December 20, 2010 at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont. Pastor Michael McGregor will be officiating.There will be no visitation.A memorial has been established to First United Methodist Church in Fremont (815 N. Broad St).
