Jacqueline M. Marquardt, 97

Fremont

Died at Birchwood Manor Nursing Home in North Bend Sunday night.

She was born in Tesero, Austria August 22, 1912 and moved to Fremont with her mother at the age of 10. She moved to Sidney, Nebraska and graduated from Sidney High School in 1930 then returned to Fremont where she worked for her mother in several Restaurants and Bars. She owned and operated Jackies Cafe until 1965 and then played the piano at the Long Branch in Leshara for 17 years. Jackie also gave in home health care. She was an avid water skier, motorcyclist and walker and was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Jackie Fachman married Otto Marquardt in Fremont in 1939.

She is survived by two daughters Vicki Benne and Conny Keeler. Six grandchildren Todd (Nikki) Porter of Howells, NE, Brian (Laura) Porter of Fremont, NE, Kathy Uhlenbrock of Omaha, Michelle Verdel of Fremont, Shane (Deirdre) Keeler of Kingwood, Texas, Kelly Keeler of Fremont, eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded by one son Paul in 1972.

A memorial funeral mass will be Friday, February 5, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. There will be a rosary at 7:00 P.M. Thursday at Dugan Funeral Chapel. A luncheon will follow the service at the Fremont Eagles Club. There will be no visitation. Condolences may be left at www.duganchapel.com.
