James (Jim) E. Addison, age 65, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2012, at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha.

James was born on the family farm near Newcastle, Nebraska, to Winifred (Anderson) and Irving Addison Sr.He attended Newcastle High School and graduated in 1965.Jim was drafted into the United States Army and served in Vietnam.Jim met Betty Jo at a church dance in Sioux City, Iowa.They married on February 27, 1993.He had a career with The National Weather Service for 15 years in Valley, Nebraska.

As best friends, he and B.J. enjoyed Husker football, golf, traveling, fishing, hanging out with the dogs, listening to old time country music, spending time with family and friends, and always enjoying a good laugh.Recently he also rekindled his interest in painting.

He was proud of the family's therapy dog "Coco", his constant companion.

Memorials have been established to the Dodge County Humane Society ~ For the care of large dogs; and Domesti-Pups.

Visitation:There will be a viewing taking place 30 minutes prior to the service, at 10:00 AM at Dugan Funeral Chapel
