James LeRoy Colhouer, Jr., age 89, of Newman Grove, passed away April 21, 2008 at the Boone County Health Center in Albion.

Jim was born April 10, 1919 in Lebanon, Kansas, to Mr. and Mrs. James Colhouer. He graduated from Lebanon High School in 1939. He spent thirteen years in the U.S.A.F. During this time he served in World War II and the Korean War. He married Caudell Johnson in Wichita Falls, Texas and they had one son, James LeRoy Colhouer III.

On September 11, 1949, he married Virginia Parkert in Hooper, Nebraska. They had one son, Robert Lee Colhouer of Fremont.

James was a member of the Fellowship Bible Church of Newman Grove, a Past Master of the Masonic Lodge #305 A.F. and A.M., Newman Grove, American Legion Post of Newman Grove, Pleiades Chapter #168 O.E.S. in Phillipsburg, KS, the Albion VIPS Group.

There is no visitation.

A memorial service will be held Monday, April 28, at 10:30 A.M. at the Fellowship Bible Church in Newman Grove. Scott Carlson will be officiating.

Preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife Virginia of Newman Grove, and sons Robert Lee Colhouer and friend Vickie Welty of Fremont, Nebraska, James LeRoy (Flo) Colhouer III of Kennett, Missouri. Four grandchildren Jennifer (Brad) Shimkus of Biloxi, Mississippi, Cory Colhouer of Alexandria, Virginia, Laura (Riz) Chand of Dallas, Texas, John Colhouer of San Antonio, Texas. Two great-grandchildren Noah Shimkus of Biloxi, Mississippi, and Alia Chand of Dallas, Texas.
