James C. Ebers, 68
Fremont

Passed away at his home surrounded by family Saturday, December 22. He was born in Hastings, Nebraska August 14, 1944 to Milton Ebers and Lois Enyeart Ebers and moved to Fremont at the age of five. Jim graduated from Fremont High School in 1962, attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln for two years, and graduated from Midland Lutheran College (Midland University) in 1967 with a degree in Business Administration. He serviced in the Fremont unit of the Nebraska National Guard from 1967 to 1973. While at Midland he began his 48 year career in the insurance business with his father. Thirty six of those years he was associated with EPE Insurance Enterprises with partners Bill Emmanuel and Ted Perry.

Through his lifetime Jim felt honored and privileged to serve with many others in various capacities in his church, business and community.

James Ebers married Sherie Stockfleth at First Lutheran Church in Fremont December 27, 1969 where they have remained members for 43 years.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters; Tammy Carr of Clarksburg, Maryland and Terry Ebers of Omaha and one son, Tim Ebers (wife Katie) of Omaha. He has one sister Joann Collins (husband Jack) and a brother Jerry Ebers (wife Joyce) both of Omaha. Four grandchildren Abby and Hannah Carr and Landry and Jansen Ebers.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, December 29 at 11:00 A.M. at First Lutheran Church. Pastor Charlie Axness and Pastor Matt Knopf officiating. Visitation will be Friday, December 28 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Dugan Funeral Chapel with the family present from 5:00 to 8:00. There will be a prayer service at the funeral home Friday at 7:00 P.M. The family prefers donations to First Lutheran Church, Midland University, Fremont Area Community Foundation, or the Fremont Area Medical Center. Condolences may be left at www.duganchapel.com.
