James A. Hruska, age 77, of Scribner, passed away Monday, December 25, 2017, at Orchard Gardens Assisted Living Facility in Valley.

James was born in Prague, Nebraska, on June 12, 1940, to Marie (Sloup) and Louis Hruska.He attended and graduated in 1958 from St. Patrick's High School in Fremont.James then enlisted in the United States Army.After his time in the service, James worked for the railroad for a number of years.He then took a position as the City of Fremont's Horticulturist where he remained until his retirement in 2002.
