James C. KIeese, age 86, passed away at his residence in Fremont Sunday, September 14, 2014.


James was born March 2, 1928, to James and Evelyn (Hodek) Kleese in Michigan City, Indiana.After moving multiple times, James graduated from Ames High School, Iowa, in 1945 and moved with his parents to Fremont.His family purchased the Fremont News Company and in 1950, his parents formed the Fremont Travel Agency.James purchased the business when his father died.James ran the travel agency until his retirement.


James belonged to A.S.T.A., the Fremont Golf Course, St. Patrick's Catholic Church, and Dansante Dance Club.


James enjoyed traveling, golfing, ballroom dancing, music, and he especially liked Notre Dame athletics, Chicago Bears football, and Detroit Tigers baseball.He loved to spend time with his grandchildren Sierra (Neil) Michael and his great-grandchildren Brooklynn and Cole Michael.He also had a love for all animals especially his dog 'Bayley'.


James is preceded in death by his parents

Memorials have been established to St. Patrick's Catholic Church, the Dodge County Humane Society, and Fremont Hospice.


Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Dugan Funeral Chapel.Rosary will be at 7:00 PM at Dugan Funeral Chapel.

Memorial Services will be Tuesday at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church.Father Ronald Battiato officiating.
