James D. "Jim" Neill
June 16, 1945 – June 19, 2022

James D. "Jim" Neill, age 77 of Fremont, Nebraska passed away Sunday June 19, 2022, at his home. He was born June 16, 1945 in Wahoo, Nebraska to James A. Neill and Darlene (Bokemper) Neill.
Jim attended Fremont Public Schools then served in the United States Navy from January 1963-July 1969. Jim attended basic training in San Diego, California and he was stationed in Florida, Hawaii, and Alaska prior to serving a tour in Vietnam.
Jim spent 40 years as an over the road truck driver spending 13 of those years driving as a team with his wife Yolanda. Jim retired from driving in 2006.
Jim was a member of Sinai Lutheran Church in Fremont. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 10535 and the Vietnam Veterans of America. Jim was a proud member of the In Country Vietnam Motorcycle Club (ICVMC).
Jim loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed fishing, camping, riding his motorcycle and all kinds of auto racing. Jim always had a joke or story to tell.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father in-law Audrey (Eckerson) Hansen; Harold Hansen Jr; sister Judith (Neill) Miles; brother-in-law Fred Miles; granddaughter Hailey Neill; great-grandson Kaison Neill; and granddaughter-in-law Andrea Neill.
Jim is survived by the love of his life of 52 years, Yolanda K. (Hansen) Neill of Fremont; Sons; James A. Neill II (Lorraine) of Midland City AL, Timothy J. Neill (Sharon) of Fremont, Terry J. Neill (Amy) of Osceola IA; daughter, Shelly J Neill – Strunk of Fremont; twin brother Jerry D. Neill (Margaret) of Newberg OR, Sister-in-law Debbie Beard (Leon) of Herman NE. Eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and many more family members.
Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
Visitation will be held Friday July 1, 2022, at Sinai Lutheran Church, Fremont, Nebraska from 5-7pm.
Funeral services will be held Saturday July 2, 2022, at Sinai Lutheran Church, Fremont, Nebraska at 10am. Graveside services will follow at Ridge Cemetery in Fremont, Nebraska with military honors.
