Jane C. Kreymborg, age 95, of Fremont, passed away Monday, February 7, 2016 at Nye Legacy.

Jane Reeder was born February 13, 1920 in Fremont. She was the daughter Dr. Grant and Wilda (Chace) Reeder. She attended school in Fremont, graduating from Fremont high school in 1937. After high school she attended Lindenwood College, St. Charles, Missouri; Midland College and the University of Nebraska. She held a BS degree in education with graduate hours in art and design.


In 1942 she married W. W. Kirchner.The marriage ended in divorce in 1946.

In 1953, Jane married William J Cheney. They lived in California and returned to Fremont where Mr Cheney owned and operated The Owen Office Supply Company. Mr. Cheney died in 1968.


In 1969 she married Dr. O. C. Kreymborg of North Platte, Nebraska. He died in 1977. After Dr. Kreymborg's death, Jane moved back to Fremont. For several years she was the manager of the May Museum Store. She was a life-time member of the Dodge County Historical Society.


She taught school in California and in Fremont. She was the Elementary Art Supervisor for the Fremont Public Schools for many years.


Jane was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, a 70 year member ofchapter AJ, P.E.O.;The Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority, The D.A.R. ( North Platte Chapter), and the Mayflower Society. She served on the Friends of the Library Board for three years, helping with the annual book sale and holding the office as Vice President.She was a member of the Fremont Art Association and taught art in their children's summer art program.


Jane was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Dr. Robert Reeder and sister Wilda Virginia Christensen.


Jane is survived by a son, Thomas Cheney ( his former wife, Ellen) of Sheboygan, WI; a daughter, Susan (George) Ralston of Sun City West, AZ and three grandchildren- Allison (Paul) Thornton of Brown Deer, WI; Grant (Jo) Cheney of Chicago, IL and Elizabeth Ralston of NY,NY, Three great grandchildren, Chace, Lila Jane and Reeder. She is survived also by her niece, Jane (Vern) Gibson of Fremont and her nephew Robert (Lettie) Reeder of Nixa, MO;niece Viky (Gavin) Divertie of Jacksonville , Florida and a nephew Kurt (Teresa) Christensen of Chicago, Illinois, and many other family and friends.

Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Dugan Funeral Chapel. Luncheon will follow memorial service at St. James Episcopal Church.
