Janice "Jan" F. Bolden, age 67 of Fremont, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at Lakeside Hospital after battling breast cancer for many years.
Janice was born on August 3, 1949, in Omaha, Nebraska,to Hubert and Sue Warren.She attended Gretna High School and graduated in 1967.Janice Warren met Robert Bolden in Gretna in 1969.They were married on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1970, in Fremont, Nebraska, where they had three children.Once their children began attending school, Jan started a home daycare business.She did this for a number of years until she had grandchildren of her own.One of her greatest loves in life was being able to take care of her grandchildren until they were old enough to go to school.It was during this time that Jan and Bob began traveling during the winters visiting Arizona, Texas, and Alaska.One of their favorite places to visit was the Laughlin, Nevada, area.
Jan loved spending time with her children and grandchildren attending school events and watching their sports and other activities.She loved the holidays, especially Christmas.She also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends.Jan liked to cook and was an expert at preparing Bob's favorite (which was also what she made on their first date) of pork chops, potatoes and gravy, and corn.
Jan was considered lucky by her family and friends because she had an uncanny ability to win big while playing slot machines.More than anything else, Jan loved to spend time with her family and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents Hubert (Sue) Warren formerly of Gretna; Mother and father-in-law Duane (Blanche) Bolden formerly of Fremont; Daughter Nicole Hladky formerly of Cedar Bluffs.
Survived by her loving husband Bob of Fremont; Son Mike (Tami) Bolden of Fremont; Daughter Kim (Kyle) Baker of Fremont; Son-in-law Adam Hladky of Cedar Bluffs; Grandchildren Alicia Keairnes, Cole Anderson, Tori Baker, Mya Bolden, Tyson Baker, and Brielle Hladky; Great Grandchild Harper Keairnes.
Memorials have been established to the family.
Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 AM Monday, September 12, 2016, prior to the funeral service at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Funeral Service will be at 10:30 AM on Monday, September 12, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church.Pastor Bruce Schut will be officiating.
