Jay D. Goodwin, age 78, of Fremont, passed from this life to eternal life in heaven on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Fremont Health.

Jay was born in Lamar, Colorado, on December 17, 1936, son of Franze Almon and Mable (Freed) Goodwin. He grew up in Colorado, working on the farm, at the family gas station and as a cook at a roadside diner. Jay served in the Army, stationed in Germany for two years and when he came home he married his sweetheart, Wanda Allen. Jay worked in the molybdenum mine in Climax, Colorado, in the oilfields in eastern Colorado and western Nebraska and as a diesel mechanic. He was an over the road trucker for over 40 years and had his own business, Goodwin Trucking, for over 20 years.

Jay was a wonderful husband, dad, grandpa and great grandpa and a generous and caring friend. He loved his family, loved to laugh and loved his Lord.

Jay has joined his parents, two brothers and Wanda in heaven. He is survived by sons Tom (Bev) and Rick (Kelly), daughter Becky, grandchildren Katherine, Jeremy and Maggie and great-granddaughter Rylee.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 14, 2015 from 4-8P.M. with family present from 6-8 P.M.
Funeral Service will be Monday, June 15, 2015 at 10 A.M. at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Phillip Schmidt officiating. Burial will take place at Memorial Cemetery
