Jeff Hetrick, age 47, of Farmington, New Mexico, died Monday, October 19, 2009, at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington, NM.

Jeff was born in Lexington, Nebraska.The family moved to Fremont in 1964.Jeff was baptized and confirmed in the First United Methodist Church in Fremont.He was involved in vocal music and played the trumpet in school, lettered in wrestling and graduated from Fremont Senior High School in 1980.He received his pilot's license and training in Omaha.He received an associates degree in applied science from Metro Tech in 1988.He received his bachelors degree in general studies from UNO in 1997.He has completed several specialist trainings and is certified as a Master Automotive Technician through ASE.He married Dena Zalesky July 13, 2004 in Ochos Rios, Jamaica and the couple has been together for 19 years.They resided in Farmington, NM where Jeff was an automotive instructor at San Juan College in the school of trades and technology.He loved riding his Harley motorcycle, taking in nature with his dog J.D., re-building cars and woodworking.

Jeff is survived by his wife Dena; companions J.D. and Harley; mother, Jane Hetrick of Fremont; brother, Loy (Cynthia) Hetrick of Carmel, Indiana; father Gary (Shirley) Hetrick of Fremont; sister Heather (Scott) Dienstbier of Omaha; mother-in-law Jane Zalesky of Lodgepole, NE; nephews Charles, Sam, Adam, and Jason; nieces Marcia and Katrina; friends and family.He is preceded in death by infant brother Randall Roy Hetrick and Father-in-law Delmar Zalesky of Lodgepole, NE.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday October 28, 2009 at Dugan Funeral Chapel.Reverend Harold D. Backus is officiating.Visitation will be held 5:00 PM on Tuesday October 27, 2009 at Dugan Funeral Chapel.Interment at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

A memorial has been established to San Juan College in Farmington, NM.
