John William (Bill) Charles passed away peacefully on March 23, 2016, at his home in Fremont, Nebraska.He was born July 7, 1928 in Des Moines, Iowa and spent most of his life in the Omaha and Fremont communities.


Bill graduated from Omaha Technical High School in 1946. He worked at the former Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. for many years and in the latter part of his life he managed the West Lake Mobile Home Park in Fremont.Bill loved hunting, fishing, dogs, cats, and anything involving outdoor activities.


Bill was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Charles, parents Paul and Mertelle Charles, sisters Mildred and Marian, and son James Charles.


Bill is survived by sons John (Melodie) Charles of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Robert (Cindy) Charles of Omaha, grandchildren Will (Jessica Trujillo) Charles of Albuquerque, Renee Matsen of Albuquerque, Jared Charles, Tosha Hefling, Joshua Putnam all of Blair, Nebraska.

Bill is also survived by his friends and caregivers Michelle Charles of Blair, Nebraska and Robin Hollingworth, Michelle Wendt, Phyllis Barton, and Tina Medinger all of Fremont.The Charles family is forever grateful for these friends and caregivers for the love they provided Bill.
