John E. Wilson, age 94, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018, at the Hooper Care Center.
John Edward Wilson was born March 8, 1924, in Orange, New Jersey, to John McNeal and Anna Sophia (Frye) Wilson.John was the youngest of 4 boys.John graduated from West Orange High School in 1941 and worked at the Orange Screen Company.He then attended business classes at Rutgers University in New Jersey.He enlisted in the United States Naval Reserve in November 1942 and entered active duty on January 3, 1942.He was discharged as SK (D) 2C in 1946 and attended the University of North Carolina during his enlistment.John married Dorothy Marion Harvey on May 10, 1947, in Orange, New Jersey.He then went to work for Electrolux Corporation in sales until 1952.He then moved to Lake Mohawk, Sparta, New Jersey, and worked for ITT.While John worked for ITT, he was transferred to SAC Headquarters in Bellevue, Nebraska, where he managed configuration for hardware and software for 9 1/2 years.He moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas where he sold real estate for nearly 24 years.John served as Commander of Coast Guard Auxiliary in Beaver Lake and Rodgers, Arkansas.He was also a charter member and Sergeant at Arms for the Marine Corps League of Fremont.He was a past president of Shrine Clubs in both Rodgers-Bella Vista, Arkansas and Fremont, Nebraska.John was a member of the Lions Club and was the 'tail twister' for 3 years.John then moved to Fremont, Nebraska, where he worked for Dugan Funeral Chapel until 2013.
John enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, boating, bowling, and golfing.
Preceded in death by the love of his life, wife Dorothy; son Robert J. Wilson; Parents John and Anna; 3 Brothers Bill, Clifford, and Howard; son-in-laws John Lovitt and Pete Brack.
Survived by his two daughters Nancy J. Lovitt-Waage (Husband John Lovitt-deceased), currently Sam Waage of Hooper, Nebraska, and Joan D. Brack (Husband P. Peter Brack-deceased) of Hooper, Nebraska.
Grandchildren James (Monica) Lovitt of Fremont, Nicole Mislivec of Omaha, Michelle (Chris) Borer of Centennial, Wyoming, and Teresa (Jeff) Dowell, of Jacksonville, Florida.
Great-Grandchildren Taylor, Maxwell, and John Lovitt; Cortney and Collin Borer; Tyler Dowell and Nolan Dowell.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, April, 28, 2018 at Dugan Funeral Chapel.
