Jon R. Pitt's Obituary
Jon R. Pitt, age 78, of Fremont, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016 at his home.
Jon was born January 8, 1938 to Archie and Gunda (Johnson) Pitt in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Jon attended school and graduated from Thorp High School. Following high school, he was drafted into the Army where he was stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia and served for two years. Following his active duty he served two years in the reserves while working and going to school full-time.He was employed with Oilgear where he met the love of his life Mary Ramuta.They were married on September 27, 1969 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Milwaukee, WI. To this marriage were three children, Jon, Dan, and Becky. In 1974, Jon was transferred to Fremont where they made their home.Jon retired from Oilgear in 2000 after 40 years of service.
Jon loved hunting, fishing, the great outdoors, and viewing nature.He was an avid coin collector, enjoyed the challenges of crossword puzzles and playing card games. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Donald Pitt, stepmother Florence Pitt, sister Yvonnie Pitt, sister-in-law Dorothy Pitt.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years Mary, sons Jon Robert Pitt of Lincoln, Dan (Melinda) Pitt of Fremont, daughter Becky (Mark) Mason of Lincoln, brother Bud Pitt of Mosinee, WI, sister-in-laws Evon Johnson, Luann Paquette, Sue Ramuta, Lynn Miller and Laura Demski, family friend Lea Mascari, grandchildren: Arin, Hunter, Brenton, Caitlin, Elizabeth and Natalie as well as nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Dugan Funeral Chapel from 9:30-11AM.
Memorial service will be held Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 11AM at Dugan Funeral Chapel with Father Elliott Schwer officiating. Military Honors will follow the service by The American Legion #20 and V.F.W. Post 854.
