Joyce E. Andersen, 89

Joyce died Friday, June 27th at Merrick Manor. She was born September 22, 1924 in Fremont and was raised here graduating from Fremont High School in 1942. She married Vernon Andersen June 20, 1942 in Fremont. Joyce was a cook at several area restaurants and Fremont Area Medical Center. She has lived most of her life in Fremont but traveled to various Air Force Bases with Vernon during WWII. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, counted cross stitch, quilting, and traveling, especially her Alaskan cruise.

She is survived by one son, Stephen Andersen (wife Diane) of Lincoln, significant other Gordon Davis of Fremont, grandsons Jon and Mark Andersen, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be Wednesday July 2, at 1:00 P.M. at Dugan Funeral Chapel. Rev. Tom Shaw officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00. There has been a memorial established to the American Cancer Society. Condolences may be left at www.duganchapel.com.

Interment will be in Ridge Cemetery.
