Judith "Judy" A. Gitt (Carlson), 65, of Fremont died Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE.
Judy A. Carlson was born September 15, 1950, in Fremont (Dodge County) to Glennice (Anderson) and Rudolph Carlson. She graduated from Fremont High School in 1968. Judy was received into Christ's Church through Holy Baptism and confirmed at Sinai Lutheran Church in Fremont.
Judy married Larry Gitt in Fremont and they later divorced.
Judy began working as a travel agent for many years in Fremont.She was a bookkeeper for Gitt Electrical.At the time of her passing she was working for Fremont Public Schools in the foodservice department at Milliken Park Elementary School.
She was a member of Sinai's choir for many years, served on the Alter Guild as well.She bowled on various leagues in Fremont and tournaments.She enjoyed raising macaw parrots, her dog Jaz, traveling with friends and family, seeing Elvis impersonators, as well as shopping and going out to eat with her sister.
Survivors include: sister, Nancy (and husband, Roger) Beckman of Fremont; niece, Jill (and husband, Curt) Curtis of Waterloo, and daughter Teagan and stepchildren Denny, Tyler and Pamela and nephew Jeff Beckman (and wife, Ashley) of Fremont and children Jake and Riki; stepchildren, Nicole (Gitt) Woxland of Omaha and sons Garett, Connor and Jakob, and Sean Gitt of Fremont and daughter Lily; and many family and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudy and Glennice Carlson(Anderson) and stepson-in-law Wade G. Woxland.
Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers, to Sinai Lutheran Church of Fremont, Dodge County Humane Society of Fremont and Low Income Ministry of Fremont.
Visitation will be from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 29, 2016 at Dugan Funeral Chapel in Fremont with family present from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
The memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Sinai Lutheran Church in Fremont with the Reverend Al Duminy officiating.
A private family inurnment will take place at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
Visitation will be from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 29, 2016 at Dugan Funeral Chapel in Fremont with family present from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
