Julia M. Ferguson, 92, of Fremont, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, at Fremont Area Medical Center in Fremont.
She was born April 16, 1918, at Coleridge, and graduated from Coleridge High School in 1936. Julia Carpenter married Ralph Ferguson at Central City on Aug. 20, 1939. Ralph passed away in May 1997. They ran the Clarks Cafe in Clarks and, in 1968, they moved to Norfolk, where they managed the Student Center at Northeast Community College until their retirement. She moved to Fremont in 2009 to live with her daughter.
Survivors include: two daughters, Linda Cutts of Fremont, and Judy Sample of Zionsville, Ind.; one son, Joe Ferguson (and wife, Bev) of Norfolk; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter and one great-grandson.
The funeral will be 11 p.m. Wednesday at Pierce Chapel, west of Clarks, with the Rev. Valjean Warman officiating. A prayer service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at Dugan Funeral Chapel in Fremont with the Rev. Scott Jensen officiating. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dugan Funeral Chapel with family present from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be in Bureau Cemetery at Pierce Chapel.
A memorial has been established to the Norfolk Area Community Foundation.
