H. Keith Warner, age 89, passed away Monday, July 4, 2011, at Fremont Area Medical Center with Marletta, his wife of 67 years, by his side.

Keith was born in Kimball, Nebraska, May 24, 1922, to Laurence and Mabel Warner.He attended Harrisburg High School and graduated in the late 1930s.After graduation he went to the University of Nebraska's School of Agriculture in Lincoln.Upon finishing his formal education, he returned to the family homestead in the Hull/Banner County area.On August 27, 1944, Keith and Marletta J. Neiman were married in Gering, Nebraska.They had two sons, Dennis and Randall.

Keith and Marletta served six years on the Scottsbluff-Banner Counties Red Cross Board.

Keith was an elected member of the Banner County ASCS for 16 years, a member of the National Stockgrowers Association, and a member of the Nebraska Wheatgrowers Association. Additionally, he was a Master Mason and member of the Scottsbluff Lodge No. 201 A.F. and A. M. Gering, Nebraska York Rite Freemasonry, Gering, Panhandle Shrine Club, Tehama Shrine of Hastings, and Scottsbluff Chapter 133 Order of the Eastern Star, Gering.

Keith has also been a member of the Methodist church for over 70 years.During his involvement with the church, Keith was a church treasurer in Hull, Nebraska, a church school superintendent, a finance committee member, and served on many church boards and committees.

Memorials have been established to: Fremont First United Methodist Church; United Methodist Men's Scholarship Fund in Scottsbluff, NE; the Shrine Burn Center; and The American Red Cross

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at First United Methodist Church in Fremont.There will be a short visitation prior to the service.Pastor Michael McGregor is officiating.
