Fremont
Died at an Omaha care center Thursday April 12. He was born in Carroll, Nebraska to John and Phyllis Lorenz Hamm October 2, 1934 and graduated from Winside High School in 1952. Ken graduated from Wayne State Teachers College in 1957 and then served in the Army for two years before starting his teaching career. He moved to Fremont in 1964 where he taught special education math and science until his retirement in 1992. Ken received his masters degree in special education from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. He was also devoted to coaching in the Special Olympics athletic programs and made lifelong relationships with many other teachers and students. After retirement Ken enjoyed traveling to many exotic destinations all over the world and could be found doing odd jobs for his many friends and neighbors.

Kenneth was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

He leaves his fiance', Betty Seaman, two daughters, Rhonda Krause-Vasquez (husband John) of Loveland, Colorado and Gwendolyn Dillow (husband David) of St. Louis, Missouri. One brother, John Hamm Jr. (wife Betty) of San Jacinto, California and a sister Susan Siefken (husband Rich) of Wayne, Nebraska. Also five grandchidren, Erin Krause, Chase Krause, Keeton Krause, Megan Dillow, Blake Dillow and a great grandson Kamden Krause.

Services will be Thursday April 19 at 10:00 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church. Rev. Michael McGregor officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday April 18 from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 at Dugan Funeral Chapel. There have been memorials established to the First United Methodist Church and Special Olympics. Condolences may be left at www.duganchapel.com.

Graveside services will be Thursday, April 19 at 1:30 P.M. at Hillcrest Cemetery in Norfolk, Nebraska.
