Lambert C. "Burm" Burmester, age 86, passed away Friday, February 8, 2013 at Fremont Area Medical Center.

He was born March 6, 1926, in Oakland, Nebraska to Louis and Hedvig Burmester.He grew up in Lyons, Nebraska, graduating from the Lyons High School before a short stint in the United States Army.Upon returning, he attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.He moved to Fremont and started working for Hormel as an accountant, rising to the position of Transportation Manager.He and his family transferred to Austin, Minnesota for three years before resigning and moving back to Fremont.He worked for Consolidated Blenders, Christensen Lumber, and then Structural Components; all in Fremont as an accountant before retiring.

He enjoyed Amateur Radio and was one of the earliest members of the Pioneer Amateur Radio Club in Fremont.He was also a member of American Legion #70 and a member of Peace Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary of Fremont

Daughter Elizabeth "Beth" and husband Kevin Hanrahan of Omaha
