LILLIAN RUTH (MASON) FRYE, 93 passed away Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Immanuel Fontenelle Home in Omaha, Nebraska.

She was born August 27, 1919, to LeRoy and Ruth (Whitford) Mason in Fremont, Nebraska.

Lillian Mason and George Linden Loomis II were married in Fremont on November 25, 1935 and divorced in 1952. During this marriage she lived in Portland, OR, Little Rock, AR, San Luis Obispo, CA and Fremont, NE. Lillian married Robert (Bud) Frye on March 27, 1954 in Wahoo, Nebraska. They lived on farms near Elk City, Valley, Blair and Herman, and in Tekamah for one year. They returned to Herman from 1962 until 1988, when they moved to their home in Fremont.

Lillian was employed by Montgomery Ward, in charge of the mail order department and later bookkeeper; Schweser's, salesperson; Pawley Oil Co., bookkeeper; Fremont Tribune, subscriptions; Burt County Plaindealer, office; and for 21 years she was secretary to the principle and doubling as librarian for Tekamah-Herman Schools in Herman. She retired in 1986.

Lillian enjoyed being a Girl Scout leader in the early forties and was active in church circles in Herman and Fremont. She was on the church board at Herman Federated Church for about 10 years and volunteered in the library at First Baptist Church in Fremont for over 10 years. She enjoyed knitting, making crafts, reading and working crossword puzzles.

Lillian is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Bud Frye, daughters Beverly Loomis, Sharon Wachdorf and Barbara Benne, grandsons Mark Frye and Mike Swanson, parents LeRoy Mason and Ruth Hindman, and brother Harry Bernard Potter. Survivors include her sons Bob (Carolynn) Frye of Enid, OK and Dave (Sarah) Frye of Houston, TX; daughter Beth (Don) Landholm of Cleveland, TN; sons-in-law Jerry Benne, Oakland, NE and Michael Wachdorf, Omaha, NE; sisters Janet (Potter) Frye, Wayne, NE and Patricia (Mason) Hartman, Castle Pines, CO; 21 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and 35 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be Friday, September 21, at 10:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church in Fremont. Rev. Gundar Lamberts officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00. A memorial has been established to the First Baptist Church.
