Lynda Kaye Kock, 68 of Fremont, formerly of Bassett, NE, was born in Dixon, NE on November 1st, 1940 to James and Mabel (Bachman) Saunders.

Lynda was the youngest of eight children and attended elementary and high school in Dixon. In 1957, she married Gene Benjamin and moved to Coolidge, NE. She lived there for a short period of time until marrying Kenneth Kock in 1960 and moving to Fremont, NE where she lived until 1978. At this time, she moved to Bassett, NE where she was known as a great cook and worked as a CNA for a period of time. In 1982, she met August Schuman and spent the rest of her time in Bassett traveling to different states until she became ill.

Lynda was known to be an avid Elvis Presley fan and collected several items of memorabilia. In December of 2008, Lynda returned to Fremont to be closer to her family.

Lynda died on July 1st, 2009 due to ongoing heart issues.

Lynda is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister along with her long-time companion.

Survivors include: four sons, Rick Benjamin, Kevin (Barbara) Kock, James (Pamela) Kock, all of Fremont, Timothy Kock of Kabul, Afghanistan and one daughter, Korina Cave of North Bend. She is also survived by fifteen grandshildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held at Dugan Funeral Chapel on Monday, July 6th at 11:00 a.m. Condolences or reflections will be forwarded to the family when left at duganchapel.com
