Marcia M. LaVally, 74, Fremont died December 11, 2008 at Arbor Manor Living Center. She was born September 27, 1934 in Superior, Nebraska. She moved to Fremont as a young girl, and graduated from Fremont High School in 1952. She graduated for University of Nebraska in 1956, with a Bachalor Degree in English. She began her career as a journalist with United Airlines in 1956, and in 1957 was in Public Relations with University of Nebraska School of Medicine until 1961. She became the Director of Public Relations for the Presbyterian Medical Center in San Francisco from 1961 to 1963. In 1963 she worked for the California Department of Transportation until her retirement in 1970. She married Norbert D. LaVally on January 24, 1970, in Sausalito, California. Mr. LaVally held degrees in Astronautics and Engineering. He recieved the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. Also the Air Force Longevity Service Award, Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation. He died in 1986. Survived by 2 cousins.
