Marion L. Schenzel, 79, of Fremont, died Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Nye Legacy in Fremont.
Marion was born July 6, 1934 in Lake Mills, Iowa and moved to Fremont as a child where she was raised. She graduated from Fremont High School in 1952. Marion Hylbak married James Schenzel on December 25, 1952 in Fremont and has been a life resident.

Marion was very active in the community including: Salem Lutheran Church, over fifty years with the Girl Scouts, PTA and the Red Cross Bloodmobile. She enjoyed spending time with family, reading and cooking.

She is survived by her husband, James and children; Jayne Neal of Little Rock, Arkansas, Jill Phelps (husband Michael) of Fremont, Jay Schenzel (wife Lisa) of Sioux City, Iowa, Jana Cox (husband Robert) of Berlin, New Jersey, siblings; Marjorie Floate of Greenville, Michigan, Christine Pearson of Fremont and Martin Hylbak of Bellingham, Washington and grandchildren Kevin McCoy (deceased), Kent McCoy (deceased), Jamie McCoy (wife Nicole), Marin Phelps, Sarah Neal, Mckenzie Phelps and August Schenzel. She is preceded in death by her parents and grandsons Kevin and Kent McCoy.

Memorial services will be Monday, April 7 at 11:00 A.M. at Salem Lutheran Church. Rev. Michael Thomas officiating. Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 at Salem Lutheran Church. Memorials may be directed to Salem Lutheran Church.
