Died Thursday night May 28 at Nye Legacy.

Mary Johnson was born January 23, 1933 in Des Moines, Iowa, the adopted daughter of Ray and Bernice Clearman, and was raised there graduating from High School in 1950. She attended Colorado Womens College and graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1954 where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. Mary Clearman married Bill Johnson December 19, 1953 in Des Moines.

Mary was a member of the First United Methodist Church and past President of PEO Chapter AJ where she was a member for over 50 years. She has been a volunteer at Fremont Area Medical Center and founded and organized the Candy Stripers at the hospital. Mary has always enjoyed relationships with friends and family and entertaining friends for dinner parties.

Husband Bill, three daughters, Jeanie Anne Shimko of Fremont; Janet Thome Johnson of Ft. Collins, Colorado and Laura J. Thompson (husband Kevin McBrien) of Denver. Also two grandson, Collin W. Thompson of Colorado and Chase A.T. Shimko of Fremont.

Funeral services will be Wednesday June 5, at 11:00 A.M. at the First Methodist Church. Rev. Greg Hall officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00. Memorials to the First United Methodist Church, the Fremont Area Community Foundation and Boys Town. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery.
