Mary Lou Gorden, age 84, passed away July 5, 2009 at her residence in Fremont.

Mary Lou was born December 11, 1924 in Wimbledon, North Dakota. She married Marvin Gorden May 16, 1942 in Tingley, Iowa. Mary Lou worked as a legal secretary for Milt Ebers, Forrest Johnson, and Neil Schilke. She was also a bookkeeper for H.P. Law for 17 years. Mary Louwas a secretary and activities bookkeeper at Fremont Senior High for 25 years. Mary Lou enjoyed ceramics so much that she owned and ran her own shop called Gorden's Ceramics.

Mary Lou was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Professional Women's Group, the Red Hat Group, and Esther Circle. She enjoyed camping and was a member of the Good Sam's Camping Club and the Pathfinder Sam's Club. She also assisted with the Special Olympics Torch Run in Nebraska.

Mary Lou is survived by her husband Marvin Gorden of Fremont. Her children Lew and wife Judy of Lucas, Iowa; Larry and wife Mary of Austin, Minnesota; and Phyllis and Husband Jon Young of Fremont, Nebraska. 10 Grandchildren, 19 Great-Grandchildren, brother Harold and wife Marcia McKee of Colorado; Sister-in-law Frankie McKee, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Mary McKee, Granddaughter Amy and husband Rod Johnson, Great Grandchildren Allyssa, Sheldon and Mariah Johnson, and brother Francis McKee.
