Melanie died at Methodist Hospital in Omaha Tuesday afternoon after a long battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in Tampa, Florida January 3, 1959 and moved to Fremont with her mother as a child where she attended school graduating from Fremont High School in 1977. She managed and worked at Long John Silvers Resturant for 14 years and then for J.C. Penney's until the present time.
Melanei Hope married Jack Craig September 11, 1982 in Fremont.
She is survived by her husband Jack. Three sons, Jonathan Craig, Andrew Craig (friend Megan Musk), and Bradley Craig all of Fremont. Two daughters Cassandra Craig and Miranda Hope of Fremont. Her mother, Joann Hope of Fremont and Father Ernest Hope of Tampa, Florida. Three brothers, Ernest Hope, William (Goat) Hope, and Harry Hope (wife Julie) all of Fremont. One Sister Linda Hope (fiance' Dan Krienert) of North Bend, Nebraska. Three nieces, Sarah Hope and D.J. Hope of Fremont and Amanda Lonergan of Omaha. One Nephew Steven Hope of Omaha.
Memorial services will be Friday at 10:00 A.M. at Dugan Funeral Chapel. Rev. Ron Croom officiating. There will be no visitation. A memorial has been established to the Cancer Relay for Life.
